The Large Asphalt Patch 2019 Project (19EN09) included the repair of localized failed asphalt at various locations throughout Gillette.  The repairs included areas of Rourke Avenue, Hidden Valley Road, Abbey Court, Force Road, JZ Court, Vanscoy Drive, Emerson Avenue, and Warlow Drive. 

The City Engineering Division identified the repair areas, prepared the plan set and construction documents, and performed the bidding. The City also performed the project management and field inspection of this project.  Materials testing was subcontracted.

Notice to proceed was issued in the fall of 2018.  The work on Rourke Avenue and repairs to an alley were completed prior to a winter shut down for weather.  The work resumed in the spring of 2019.  The wet, cool weather hindered the project, as well as other projects.  The City allowed flexibility in scheduling due to the weather, requiring each repair location to be complete prior to moving to the next, but allowing some time between each repair to accommodate the weather and conflicts created by the weather. 

The awarded project cost was $184,222.00. 

There were five (5) Change Orders in the project that included an initial scope reduction for budgeting, restoration of that scope reduction, a change order drawing from the force account, and a final change order for the final quantity adjustment.  The final change order was a deduction from the contract amount of -$18,844.29.

The final contract amount was $165,377.71.
