SUBJECT:
Council Consideration of a Bid Award for the 2020 Pavement Marking Project to Design Construction, LLC, in the Amount of $94,558.60.  
BACKGROUND:
This Bid is for our Pavement Marking base on a per cycle cost (each time). A cycle consists of one painting on our streets and associated markings. Presently the streets traffic section performs this function every fall and spring with touch-up markings as needed. The bid is for a year with intentions of extending the bid for 2 additional years with cost adjustments built in to handle increases in the bidder's material cost. The bid has cost factors built in to handle items which are not performed in each cycle at the direction of the Traffic Safety staff.
ACTUAL COST VS. BUDGET:
The funding for this project comes from the Public Works General Fund Account 001-50-62-424-30-43610 in the amount of $230,000.00 in the current budget year. If the cost of all items bid were used in one cycle the cost for those markings would be $101,208.50. Additional touch-up cost will be experienced during a year period and these costs are provided with the contract. 
SUGGESTED MOTION:
I move for Approval of a Bid Award for the 2020 Pavement Marking Project to Design Construction, LLC, in the Amount of $94,558.60.
