The City of Gillette began using the PAVER software in 2016 to provide a base line analysis of the City of Gillette pavement assets. This analysis provided pavement condition indexes (PCI) for each segment of street within the City transportation network. Each section of a street is given a PCI number grading the overall condition and giving it a number between 0 and 100. 100 being a newly constructed street.
In order to fine tune the predictive component of the software with actual measured data, we are repeating the condition survey of one third of the City each year. This refinement to the pavement model will greatly improve the software's accuracy in predicting the life of various pavement types, and value of surface treatments and other maintenance procedures.
In 2019, TR Consulting was retained to inspect approximately one third of the City's transportation network. From the results of that 2019 inspection we were able to identify segments in our street network that indicated a greater rate of decline than normal and design remedial actions to extend the pavement life.
The scope of work for the 2020 PAVER update is for TR Consulting to inspect the northeast one third of Gillette, roughly north of Interstate 90 and east of US Highway 14-16. This scope will also include updating work history, predictive models, and will provide an updated condition report. |
