SUBJECT:
Council Consideration of a Resolution Authorizing the Submission of an Application to the Wyoming Department of Transportation Through the Transportation Alternatives Program for the Governing Body of the City of Gillette, Wyoming, for the Purpose of the Pathway Lighting Information Project.
BACKGROUND:
In an effort to secure additional funding sources, staff supports the City of Gillette to submit a grant application to the Wyoming Department of Transportation through the Transportation Alternatives Program for the Purpose of the Pathway Lighting Information Project.  A full copy of the City of Gillette's grant application is available for review in the City's Finance Department.  Enclosed separately is a copy of the Resolution of Support for Council approval. The signed Resolution will accompany the grant application.  Staff supports the Resolution.
ACTUAL COST VS. BUDGET:
The grant request will be in the amount of $387,240.  The City of Gillette agrees to set aside a minimum of $96,810 for the required 20% local match on the project using Optional 1% Sales Tax. Total project cost is $484,050.
SUGGESTED MOTION:
I move to approve a Resolution on Behalf of the Governing Body of the City of Gillette, Wyoming to submit an Application to the Wyoming Department of Transportation through the Transportation Alternatives Program for the Purpose of the Pathway Lighting Information Project.
