| Council Consideration of a Resolution to Adopt the Safe Routes to Schools Travel Plan as a General Guide to Determine Improvements Needed to Educate and Encourage School Attendance Access Using Walking or Biking Modes of Transportation, as Prepared by Kadrmas, Lee, and Jackson (KLJ), Inc. |
| BACKGROUND: |
| On December 19, 2012, City Council, along with the Campbell County School District, the Town of Wright, and Campbell County approved a grant application submittal to the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) to prepare a Safe Routes to Schools Travel Plan. The grant application was approved by WYDOT and the City selected Kadrmas, Lee, and Jackson (KLJ), Inc. to prepare the Safe Routes to Schools Travel Plan. The Travel Plan is now complete and ready for final Agency approval. Once approved the City, and the Campbell County School District, are eligible to apply for additional WYDOT Grant Funding of infrastructure improvements as listed in the plan. The adoption of the plan will also allow other governmental agencies to apply for funding in areas of their jurisdiction. |
| ACTUAL COST VS. BUDGET: |
| The cost of the Safe Routes to Schools Travel Plan was fully funded by the WYDOT SRTS Grant in the amount of $25,000.00. |
