This project consisted of remodeling the 2nd Floor area mostly encompassed by the Engineering and Development Services Department. The remodel provided for a "Permit Center" in one centralized area for the Building, Planning, and Engineering Divisions. The project also included the installation of two (2) conference spaces, a plans/printing production room, and a centralized plans/plat record documents room. The project also included painting and installation of carpet in the 2nd Floor Community Room and installation of casework and countertop on the exterior of the Community Room.

The project was awarded to Norton Construction, Inc. on October 15, 2012 and Substantial Completion for the project was acheived on April 15, 2013.

A one-year warranty is provided in accordance with the Contract documents.

The original Contract was in the amount of $642,692.00. There were six (6) Change Orders on the project totaling $42,125.72, resulting in a Final Contract Price of $684,817.72.

The Change Orders included modifications to the door hardware, inclusions of repairs to fire proofing on existing columns and steel joists, replacement of VAV's which were not previously exposed, re-routing existing duct work which was not previously exposed, modification of existing plumbing (hot water supply and return lines), addition of a fire extinguisher cabinet, renovations of the 3rd Floor Administration Office ($12,120.12), re-routing of existing electrical conduit and providing a horizontal shaft enclosure, and inclusion of additional cherry veneer doors.  

I move for Approval for the Acceptance of Public Improvements for the City Hall Remodel, Phase II Project, Installed by Norton Construction, Inc., in the Amount of $684,817.72.
