| Council Consideration of a Memorandum of Understanding Concerning Annual Support Funding for the Gillette College. |
| BACKGROUND: |
| This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) outlines the ways in which the Gillette College receives its support from Gillette, Campbell County, BOCHES, the Campbell County Memorial Hospital as well as from the Northern Wyoming Community College District itself. The MOU presents a history of the funding sources for the Old Main building, the Technical Education Center, the Herb and Dorothy Carter Nursing facility and the Student Housing Project and then discusses the sources of on-going support for those facilities as well as for the faculty and staff. The Parties to the MOU have recognized that support from them is necessary for the College to survive and prosper and for that reason section VI lists the annual contributions each has made and intends to try to make in the future, at least until another more sustainable funding source is implemented. The City's annual contribution includes the debt service on the Student Housing project as well as a direct budget allocation of $335,000. By approving this MOU, each of the Parties is agreeing to continue its current level of support as described in the MOU, subject to receipt of its income from the sources uniquely available and subject to appropriation and the provisions of the Wyoming Budget Act. |
