Layne Christiansen Company has completed the work for the Gillette Madison Pipeline Project Contract No. 1 Test Wells. This work consisted of drilling and developing two new Madison formation test wells in Crook County, site preparation and access road construction.
The original bid price to perform this work was $6,947,877.00.
The final contract amount when considering all change orders is $9,322,699.09.
The City has assessed $219,750.00 in the form of Liquidated Damages and has withheld this amount from prior partial payments made to Layne to recover our costs to retain our consultant to provide their services to complete this work.
The final payment amount to Layne, after applying Liquidated Damages, is $9,102,949.09.

City Staff recommends Council Acceptance of this project. City Staff also recommends commencement of the 41-day advertisement period starting on Friday, October 11, 2013. Final payment to the Contractor will be made after the 41-day advertisement period is complete, or around November 20, 2013.
