| Council Consideration for the Acceptance of Public Improvements for the Sunflower Park Drainage Improvements Project, Installed by Hladky Construction, Inc., in the Amount of $770,288.27. |
| BACKGROUND: |
| This project consisted of the removal of approximately 2,900 LF of trickle channel, 20,100 SF of concrete sidewalk (bike path), existing pedestrian bridges, and installation of approximately 2,700 LF of low flow concrete channel, 4,900 SY of 10' wide concrete bike path, approaches for the concrete trickle channel, four (4) pedestrian bridges, and other miscellaneous work.
The work was completed in 73 working days out of the allotted contract time of 94 working days. |
| ACTUAL COST VS. BUDGET: |

The Original Contract Price was in the amount of $938,602. There were five (5) change orders resulting in a net decrease in the contract price of $168,313.73. These change orders added curbs to trickle channel approaches, paid for extra work resulting from hydrant flushing, slope grading, addition of a concrete slurry mat as a foundation for the channel, installation of a drain for the playground, and installation of a basketball court. The decrease in the contract amount resulted from final quantity adjustments, which included less land disturbance than anticipated, and elimination of seeding in the portion of the park between Dogwood Avenue and Emerson Drive. This seeding will occur in the Sunflower Park Landscaping Project.
This project was be funded jointly by the Optional 1% Sales Tax Account 201-10-05-419-70-47405 and County-wide Concensus Funding up to $1,050,000. |
