SUBJECT:
Council Consideration of a Letter Agreement with the Municipal Energy Agency of Nebraska (MEAN) for Payment of the Regulatory Independent Transmission System Operator and Transmission Adjustment.
BACKGROUND:

Under this Agreement, the City will pay the RITA as a single payment of $289,742.23. This will simplify cost tracking and avoid distorting contract wholesale electrical supply costs going forward.  Attached is a copy of a letter dated September 10, 2013 from MEAN (with background), a letter dated September 26, 2013 explaining and reducing the cost to Gillette and the actual Letter Agreement for the Mayor’s signature.
ACTUAL COST VS. BUDGET:
 This one time cost was included in the 2013-14 fiscal year budget account 504-70-74-442-50-45130 Electricity.
SUGGESTED MOTION:
I move for approval of the Letter Agreement with the Municipal Energy Agency of Nebraska for Payment of the Regulatory Independent Transmission System Operator and Transmission Adjustment.
