During the surveying work that was begun last year to layout the space for the proposed new Tank Site for the Cemetery, discrepancies were discovered in the boundary between the Mount Pisgah Cemetery and City property in the Washington Memorial Park Addition. The land in question is along the Western boundary of the Cemetery that runs up against the Twin Spruce Junior High School football field. There is a narrow strip of City owned land along the East side of the football field that used to be an access road to the water tank on top of the hill. The boundary issue is the result of the line being described on independent legal descriptions from different surveys that were never integrated. The amount of change is very small and will not require that the existing fence be moved. We have attached a drawing that shows the overlaps in the two boundary lines. To resolve the two descriptions a new legal description of the boundary line has been prepared which will be incorporated into quit claim deeds that will be exchanged by the Campbell County Cemetery District and the City of Gillette to resolve this issue.
