Ordinance first reading 6/0. This ordinance has been drafted to amend Section 3-3 to extend the alcohol server training requirement that is currently in place for employees in restaurants of businesses that are operated with liquor licenses. Under this ordinance, the training requirement will expand to all employees who are engaged in selling or serving alcoholic beverages, as well as their managers. This ordinance will apply to all businesses operating with a liquor license instead of just to those with restaurants, including bars and package liquor stores. This ordinance also amends section 3-5 by enacting a new section (b) (2)(F) so that a violation of the expanding training requirement will be a Category 2 Standard violation which means that the liquor license holder is facing administrative sanctions up $1,000.
