SUBJECT:
Council Consideration of an Amendment to the Professional Services Agreement with DOWL HKM for Engineering Design Services Associated with the Antelope Valley Business Park Water System Improvements in the Amount of $35,500.00.
BACKGROUND:
The enclosed Amendment No. 2 with DOWL HKM is necessary to provide engineering design services associated with the proposed water system improvements identified within the Antelope Valley Business Park Water Service Agreement that will be considered by the City Council for approval during the December 17, 2013 meeting.
ACTUAL COST VS. BUDGET:
The Antelope Valley Business Park (AVBP) is responsible for all WWDC non-eligible costs associated with this project.  DOWL HKM's estimated design cost of $35,500.00 is described further within the attached amendment.

Of this total amount, $32,000.00 is DOWL HKM's estimate to design the additional improvements as identified within the attached amendment.  This $32,000.00 will be paid by the City and reimbursed by the AVBP per the terms and conditions of the separate AVBP Water Service Agreement.  Attached is a copy of a check provided by the AVBP for the cost of the additional engineering design services.  This $32,000.00 amount is not eligible for WWDC reimbursement.

The remaining $3,500.00 is additional costs necessary to revise easement exhibits and legal descriptions during staff negotiations with affected landowners.  Sixty-seven percent (67%) of the $3,500.00 cost is eligible for reimbursement by the WWDC through our Project (grant funding) Agreement we have with them.
