| BACKGROUND: |
|
The project consists of installing 4900 LF of new 8" PVC Sanitary Sewer main in the alley between Rockpile and Richards from 4th Street to 8th Street, main in Richards from 9th Street to 11th Street, main in the alley between Warren and Ross from 4th Street to 7th Street, main in the alley between 11th Street and 12th Street from Ross to Dalbey, main in Rohan from 9th Street to 10th Street, and main in the alley between Osborne and Brooks from 4th Street to 6th Street. Included also is rehabilitating the existing pavement and repair of failed concrete curb and gutter, driveways and valley gutters in the areas of the Sanitary Sewer Main Replacement.

| ACTUAL COST VS. BUDGET: |
The City of Gillette, Purchasing Division, opened bids for this project at the City Warehouse on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at 2:30 PM. The results of the bid opening are as follows:

Bid Irregularities:
There were no errors with any of the bids.
Construction Estimate:
The total construction cost for this project was estimated at $2,005,455.00 and was prepared by HDR Engineering. The low bid was $1,868,539.04, approximately 6.8% lower than the Engineer's Estimate.
Budget:
Monies for this project have been budgeted from 1% Optional Sales Tax Fund #201-10-05-419-70-47420 in the amount of $2,300,000.00. Also included with this funding is a SLIB Funding Grant of $500,000.00 maximum.
Contractor's Review:
North Star Energy & Construction, LLC has been contacted and is comfortable with their bid. They have worked on many projects for the City of Gillette and have performed quality work.
