Council Consideration of a Bid Award for the Alley PMS 2014 Project to Powder River Construction, Inc., in the Amount of $202,624.50.
BACKGROUND:
The Alley PMS 2014 (14EN11) Project includes the total surface replacement of the alley between L A Lane and Shipwheel Lane, from Flying Circle Drive to Hog Eye Drive, including 3 sewer services and approximately 10 LF of 8" sanitary sewer main.  The alley is approximately 820 feet long and varies in width from 16 to 45 feet wide at Hog Eye Drive and will be paved with 6.5" concrete.  Most of the pavement will be 16' wide. For the project this alley is referred to as the L A Alley.

Bids were opened on February 13, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the office of the City Purchasing Division, Central Warehouse, 800 N. Burma Avenue, Gillette, Wyoming.

Five (5) bids were received:

Powder River Construction, Inc.$202,624.50
Donkey Creek Construction, Inc.$255,041.00
S&S Builders, LLC$271,619.00
Intermountain Construction and Materials$292,606.50
Mountain View Building, Inc.  $309,925.00

The project was designed by Bruce Engineering, Inc.  Gerald Williams, P.E., with Bruce Engineering, Inc. reviewed the bids and determined that Powder River Construction, Inc. is the lowest qualified bidder.  The work will be substantially complete within 35 working days and ready for final payment within 40 working days.
ACTUAL COST VS. BUDGET:
The Engineer's Estimate from Bruce Engineering, Inc.  for the Alley PMS 2014 Project was $201,321.00.  The funding for this project has been allocated from the 1% Optional Tax Account 201-10-05-419-40-44331.
SUGGESTED MOTION:
I move for Approval of a Bid Award for the Alley PMS 2014 Project to Powder River Construction, Inc., in the Amount of $202,624.50.
