The Boxelder Road Extension Project, from Overdale Drive to Highway 50, is an Urban Systems Project that is currently under design and being managed by WYDOT.  The City has an existing Agreement with WYDOT for the roadway improvements, however it does not contain City utility extensions because they are not eligible under the Urban Systems Program.

This Agreement specifies the responsibilities of the City and WYDOT.  The City will be responsible to design the water and sanitary sewer facilities and provide for the inspection of them during construction.  WYDOT will incorporate our design into their plans and specifications and bid these infrastructure improvements with the roadway project.

The City is proposing to install a 12" water main the length of the project (approximately 2,250 LF), along with fire hydrants and other incidentals necessary for this water system extension.  This water system improvement will eventually provide another "loop" into the Westover Subdivision and will serve future development adjacent to the new roadway.

We are also proposing to install an 8" sanitary sewer main from Overdale Drive easterly, approximately 1,000 linear feet, along with manholes and lateral stubs.  This will also serve future development along the new roadway.  The area along the east portion of the roadway will need to be served by sanitary sewers running north and south, therefore no sanitary sewer is planned in this portion of the new roadway.

All of the costs associated with the water and sanitary sewer improvements will be paid by the City.  The estimated costs are:

Funding for the preliminary engineering costs are included in the current FY Budget (Account 201-10-05-419-70-47402).  Construction of the project is scheduled to be in the summer of 2016, therefore funding to complete the project will be included in the FY2015/2016 budget.
