| Council Consideration of a Resolution Authorizing the Formation of a Single Economic Development Entity Located in Campbell County to Serve the Counties and Communities of Northeast Wyoming. |
| BACKGROUND: |
| The Boards of Directors for the Campbell County Economic Development Corporation (CCEDC) and North East Wyoming Economic Development Coalition (NEWEDC) have passed a Resolution to express their agreement to merge their operations into one combined entity to more effectively plan, organize and implement the program of work within a five county area in northeast Wyoming. As part of this reorganization the NEWEDC Office will be relocated to the CCEDC office suite. The new organization will have one Executive Director to oversee the entire operation and one Deputy Director to focus primarily on economic development activities, programs and projects for Converse, Crook, Niobrara and Weston Counties. Gillette supports both of these corporations in the annual budget and has the ability to appoint members of the Board of the CCEDC under its bylaws. City officers serve on both Boards. In order to merge the two corporations and create a new entity, the Boards will draft new bylaws and Articles of Incorporation, and the merged organization will operate under a new name which will reflect the union of values, mission and goals from both parent entities. |
