The project consists of:

Base Bid: Replace the standing seam metal roof panels, remove existing windows, in-fill the openings and cover the entire face with new metal wall panels, remove and replace roof hatches, cap existing exterior walls with pre-finished metal parapet cap, provide and install new gutter and downspout system at the north wall.

Alternate 2: Subsurface waterproofing

Alternate 3: Water sealer

Unit Price 1: Plywood sheathing replacement

The City of Gillette, Purchasing Division, opened bids for this project at the City Warehouse on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 11:00 am.

There were no errors with any of the bids.

Construction Estimate:

The total construction cost for this project was estimated at $ 164,000.00 and prepared by Dale Buckingham Architects, LLC. The low bid at $140,522.00 (Base + Alternate 2 + Alternate 3) is 14.4% lower than the Architects’ estimate.

Budget:

Monies for this project have been budgeted from Building Maintenance (50370-73-441-40-44310) in the amount of $100,000.00. Additional funds ($40,522) will be transferred from Maintenance Equipment (503-70-73-441-40-44320).  

Contractor’s Review:

Michaels Construction has no apparent problem with their bid. Bid tabulation is attached.
