Appointment of Councilman McGrath and Police Chief Hloucal to the Community Juvenile Services Board, to each Serve a Three (3) Year Term. |
BACKGROUND: |
The Community Juvenile Services Board is a Joint Powers Board between Campbell County, Wyoming and the City of Gillette, Wyoming. The purpose of the Community Juvenile Services Board is to provide joint and cooperative method and vehicle for the planning of and funding for the provision of alternatives to the incarceration of juvenile offenders, develop and implement a comprehensive plan to provide facilities, programs and policies for the prevention of juvenile crime and delinquency and provide drug court services for juvenile offenders to the District, Circuit and Municipal Courts of the County.
The Board shall consist of a minimum of eleven members. Membership shall include one appointee from each of the participating agencies. In addition, the following representatives shall be selected by the participating agencies as required by W.S. 14-9-105: Local Field Office of the Department of Family Services Local Public Health Local School District Prosecuting Attorney's Office Local Police Department and Sheriff's Office Local or Regional Mental Health or Substance Abuse Provider Public Defender's Office Campbell County Juvenile Probation Office and Any other professional the participating agencies may appoint who has particular knowledge or expertise in children or young adult services.

SUGGESTED MOTION: |
I move for the appointment of Councilman McGrath and Police Chief Hloucal to the Community Juvenile Services Board, in accordance with Wyoming Statute 14-9-105 and the Joint Powers Agreement between Campbell County and the City of Gillette, Section V. 5.2 , with the prescribed terms, as presented. |
