| Council Consideration of a Bid Award for the Maple Avenue Culvert Replacement Project to S&S Builders, LLC, in the Amount of $414,445.50 (1% Project). |
| BACKGROUND: |
|
The Maple Avenue Culvert Replacement Project (14EN27) consists of replacement of the existing two (2) 30" culverts with two (2) 2.5' x 10' box culverts. The project will also include removal and replacement of road surface, curb and gutter, sidewalk, drainage channel and items incidental to the box culvert installation. The installation of the two (2) box culverts will increase the flow under Maple Avenue which will eliminate the overtopping that is currently common in minor storm events. This project is located where Maple Avenue crosses North Donkey Creek/Sunflower Park in the 4-J Subdivision.

| ACTUAL COST VS. BUDGET: |
Bids were opened and read aloud on August 20, 2014 at the City of Gillette Purchasing Division. Three (3) bids were received on the Project. The bid results are as follows: | S&S Builders, LLC | | $414,445.50 | | Powder River Construction, Inc. | | $478,973.00 | | Hladky Construction, Inc. | | $485,960.15 |
The Engineer's Estimate, prepared by HDR Engineering, Inc., was in the amount of $417,340.00. This project will be funded jointly by the Optional 1% Sales Tax Account 201-10-05-419-70-47405 and County-wide Consensus Funding. |
