The Sunflower Park Irrigation and Park Improvements Project consisted of the installation of irrigation, landscaping, and other miscellaneous improvements in Sunflower Park.  This included the installation of a new modern irrigation system, the planting of trees, reduction of turf by adding rock mulch beds and a change of turf species to a more water conservative species.

The original contract price was in the amount of $489,512.00.

There were a total of three (3) change orders with a net increase in the amount of $64,710.77.

Change Order #1 - Added the incorporation of compost as a soil amendment in areas of the park and also added HDPE drain channel crossings to the irrigation install for a total of $28,691.70.

Change Order #2 - Added erosion control in the park for the duration of the winter shutdown, added additional seeding west of Dogwood Street for the disturbance caused by the Drainage Improvements Project, and added additional turf restoration in areas where the soil amendments were added.  The total for these three (3) items was $38,148.07.

Change Order #3 - The addition of 10 new trees replacing trees that were damaged by the heavy snowstorm in the fall of 2013, addition of a new valve to separate this irrigation system from the 4-J system and the removal of irrigation and sod from the area surrounding Maple Street for the future Culvert Project.  This change order also included all final quantities that differed from the original plan. This was for a net decrease in the amount of $2,129.00

I move for Approval of the Acceptance of Public Improvements for the Sunflower Park Irrigation and Park Improvements Project, Installed by Chalk Buttes Landscaping, LLC, in the Amount of $554,222.77 (1% Project).
