| An Ordinance Providing for the Vacation of Right-of-Way of a Tract of Land Being a Portion of Lot 7, Block 1 and the Remainder Portion of Warren Avenue (Formerly Known as Gordon Avenue) as Platted in the Sunnyside Addition, to the City of Gillette, as filed in Book 1 of Plats, Page 13 of the Records of Campbell County, Wyoming, as Shown on the Exhibit "A" and "B" Maps, in the City of Gillette, Wyoming, Subject to all Planning Requirements. |
| BACKGROUND: |
Ordinance First Reading: 7/0
The adjacent property owners are requesting that an unused portion of City right-of-way in the Sunnyside Addition be vacated. The City acquired a portion of land to extend West 8th Street in 1931. The Deed to the City is recorded in Book 13, Page 637. A portion of this land area is no longer needed as West 8th Street will not be continued to the west. The City will deed the portion of the right-of-way back to the adjacent owners; however the City will reserve the land area that is used as a right-of-way for Warren Avenue.
The applicants have agreed to submit a Final Plat to incorporate the vacated right-of-way into the adjacent parcel to the north and the adjacent parcel to the south. All City Divisions and other utility companies have been notified of this vacate request and no concerns have been expressed. |

I move for Approval of an Ordinance Providing for the Vacation of Right-of-Way of a Tract of Land Being a Portion of Lot 7, Block 1 and the Remainder Portion of Warren Avenue (Formerly Known as Gordon Avenue) as Platted in the Sunnyside Addition, to the City of Gillette, as filed in Book 1 of Plats, Page 13 of the Records of Campbell County, Wyoming, as Shown on the Exhibit "A" and "B" Maps, in the City of Gillette, Wyoming, Subject to all Planning Requirements on Second Reading.
