A Memorandum of Understanding has been negotiated between Gillette, Campbell County, Wright and the Fire Joint Powers Board concerning the construction of the new fire station, Fire Station No. 3. It will be constructed on a tract of land off Enzi Drive, that is owned by the Campbell County School District and has been leased to Campbell County for this project. Gillette will be responsible for the design and for construction maintenance of the project using a Construction manager at Risk process, and the design will be based on the original design for Fire Station No. 7. The estimated cost of the construction of the project will be $4,000,000 which will be funded through the FY15 Countywide Consensus Funding allocated to Campbell County. In addition a new City street will be constructed which adjoins the property site on the North and will connect Enzi Drive and Running W drive. Gillette will own the street and be responsible for its maintenance. That new street will provide access to the new fire station and will provide access alternatives to the CCSD owned property as well.
