| Council Consideration of a Professional Services Agreement for Gillette Broadband Study with the Engineering Firm -Vantage Point in the Amount of $60,000.00. |
| BACKGROUND: |
| The Gillette Broadband Study will provide a minimum of two alternatives to the City, which encourage and promote fiber optic bandwidth development by the private sector to support the current and future technology needs of local businesses. Each alternative will include a description of actions required from the City of Gillette to achieve the goal of increasing internet connection speeds, which are limited at the current time. Items researched for these recommendations may include, but are not limited to, the use of franchise agreements, gaining access to rights-of-way, and use of fiber resources currently owned by the City of Gillette. | ACTUAL COST VS. BUDGET: |

The original budget for this project was $85,000.00. This is funded from a Wyoming Business Council joint grant made up of $35,000.00 to CCEDC and $50,000.00 to the City of Gillette. The City of Gillette received two bids on October 29, 2014. KLJ Submitted a proposal for $75,000.00 and Vantage Point submitted a proposal for $60,000. This contract will be funded from Electrical Engineering account number 501-70-71-440-30-43240.
