The City requested Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) for Professional Design Services for the Gillette Aquatic Park Project in late August and received submittals from seven (7) design firms. The SOQs were reviewed and narrowed to a short list of four (4) design firms who were requested to submit design proposals and interview on the project. Three (3) design firms submitted proposals and interviewed in November. The selection committee comprised of members of City staff, City Council, and the Parks and Beautification Board selected AT Architecture, Inc. and their aquatic sub-consultant, Water Technology, Inc. as the recommended design team for the project.

AT Architecture, Inc. is based out of Billings, Montana and Water Technology, Inc. is based out of Wisconsin.

The Phase I Scope of Work will include a brief review of the existing City Pool to determine a program for the new outdoor facility, the conceptual design/layout of up to three (3) aquatic park alternatives based upon scale, budget, and amenities with corresponding site selection requirements to accommodate the various park layouts, development of estimated construction cost for each alternative, and assistance with site selection for the preferred/selected alternative.
 
It is envisioned the contract will be amended at the conclusion of the Phase I -Preliminary/Conceptual Design project to move forward with final design and preparation of construction documents for the preferred/selected alternative resulting from the Phase I process. It is anticipated Phase I will be complete prior to the budget process finalization for the upcoming FY15/16 budget year.

Funding for this project has been allocated in the Optional 1% Sales Tax - Park Development Account #201-10-05-419-70-47310 in the Amount $350,401.00.

I move for Approval  of a Professional Services Agreement for Design Services Associated with Phase I of the Gillette Aquatic Park Project, with AT Architecture, Inc., in the Amount of $31,300.00 (1% Project).
