| Council Consideration of a Professional Services Agreement for Design, Bidding, and Construction Management Services Associated with the Gillette Youth Learning Center Renovation Project, with Schutz Foss Architects, P.C., in the Amount of $77,100.00. |
| BACKGROUND: |
The City of Gillette has formed a partnership with the Campbell County School District and the Boys and Girls Club of Campbell County to develop a rehabilitation plan to renovate key systems in the 40-year old building, which previously was the home of Lakeview Elementary School, and allow for the building to continue to serve the youth in the community as the new Gillette Youth Learning Center. This project will construct the necessary improvements to coincide with the Wyoming Business Council Community Facilities Grant as awarded to the City of Gillette.
The consultant selection for the project included a competitive process in accordance with the Wyoming Business Council Grant guidelines. A Request for Proposals (RFP) for Architectural Services was advertised on multiple occasions and the City received one response to the RFP from Schutz Foss Architects, P.C. As a result of the selection process, Schutz Foss Architects, P.C. was selected and will provide the necessary facility survey, testing, and inspection needs in the development of design drawings and bidding documents for the public facility improvements. The Consultant will utilize concepts from the preliminary contractor inspections and estimated needs as outlined in the Wyoming Business Council Community Facilities Grant and Loan Program application submittal and approval.
The preliminary determinations of facility improvements include; mechanical/HVAC upgrades, roof replacement, interior light fixture replacements, and sanitary sewer service upgrade including associated sidewalk replacement.
The proposal from Schutz Foss Architects, P.C., in the amount of $77,100, includes design services (architectural, civil, mechanical, electrical, structural), bidding services, and construction inspection/management services.
