SUBJECT:
Council Consideration of a Bid Award for the Alley PMS 2015 Project to Powder River Construction, Inc., in the Amount of $168,424.50 (1% Project).
BACKGROUND:
The Alley PMS 2015 (15EN03) Project, designed by Bruce Engineering, Inc., includes the total surface replacement of the alley between L A Lane and Jack Plane Lane from Flying Circle Drive to Hogeye Drive including abandoning one (1) sewer service.  The alley is approximately 700 feet long and is approximately 20 feet wide and will be paved with 6.5 inches of concrete.  The alley paved surface will be 16 feet wide. For the project the alley is referred to as the Jack Plane Alley.

Bids were opened on February 3, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at the office of the City Purchasing Division, Central Warehouse, 800 N. Burma Avenue, Gillette, Wyoming.

Four (4) bids were received:
Powder River Construction, Inc. $168,424.50
Hot Iron, Inc. $190,363.98
S&S Builders, LLC $227,921.80
Mountain View Building, Inc. $296,948.00

The bids have been reviewed by Bruce Engineering and they have determined that Powder River Construction, Inc. is the lowest qualified bidder. The contract requires the work to be substantially complete in 35 working days and ready for final payment within 40 working days.
ACTUAL COST VS. BUDGET:
The Engineer's Estimate prepared by Bruce Engineering, Inc. for the Alley PMS 2015 Project was in the amount of $191,423.00. Funding for this project has been allocated from the 1% Optional Tax Account #201-10-05-419-40-44331.
SUGGESTED MOTION:
I move for Approval of a Bid Award for the Alley PMS 2015 Project to Powder River Construction, Inc., in the Amount of $168,424.50 (1% Project).
