| BACKGROUND: |
|
This project consists of installing approximately 9,000 LF of sanitary sewer main replacement, approximately 2,700 LF of storm drain installation, and approximately 1,800 LF of water main replacement in Green Street from 5th Street to 9th Street, in alley between Highway 59 and Miller Avenue from 5th Street to 7th Street, in alley between Brooks Avenue and Miller Avenue from 6th Street to 7th Street, in alley between 5th Street and 6th Street from Green Avenue to Gurley Avenue, in alley between 6th Street and 7th Street from Highway 59 to Gurley Avenue, in alley between 7th Street and 8th Street from Highway 59 to Gurley Avenue, in alley between 8th Street and 9th Street from Highway 59 to Gurley Avenue, in 12th Street from Highway 59 to Gurley Avenue, and in Overland Trail cul-de-sac to Monte Vista Lane.

The City of Gillette, Purchasing Division, opened bids for this project at the City Warehouse on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at 2:30 P.M. The following table summarizes the bids received and the Engineer's Estimate.

CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATE:
The total construction cost for this project was estimated at $4,360,169.00 and was prepared by HDR Engineering. The low bid from Hot Iron, Inc. was $3,925,882.44, approximately 9.9% lower than the Engineer's Estimate.
BUDGET:
Monies for this project have been budgeted from the 1% Optional Sales Tax Fund #201-10-05-419-70-47420 in the amount of $5,500,000.00.
CONTRACTOR'S REVIEW:
Hot Iron, Inc. has no apparent problem with their bid.
