SUBJECT:
Council Consideration of a Bid Award for the Base Bid and Alternate 1 for the Parking Lot Rehabilitation Project to Powder River Construction, Inc., in the Amount of $271,632.75 (1% Project).
BACKGROUND:
The Parking Lot Rehabilitation Project (15EN09) includes rehabilitation of the parking lots at Hidden Valley Park, McManamen Park and Dalbey Park which were used as debris drop sites for the fall 2013 winter storm.  The project will include removal and replacement of the existing Hidden Valley Parking lot surface,  a concrete overlay surface at McManamen Park and large asphalt patches and curb and gutter work at Dalbey Park
ACTUAL COST VS. BUDGET:
Bids were opened and read aloud on March 17, 2015 at the City of Gillette Purchasing Division.  Three (3) bids were received on the Project.

The bid results are as follows:

The Engineer's Estimate, prepared by Consolidated Engineers, Inc., was in the amount of $217,958.42 for the base bid, $32,079.92 for Alternate 1 and $59,883.94 for Alternate 2.

Alternate 1 consisted of asphalt patching and curb and gutter work on the west end of the Little League Parking Lot at Dalbey Park. Alternate 2 consisted of asphalt patching and installation of valley gutter near the center approach of the Little League Parking Lot at Dalbey Park.

It is recommended that the Base Bid and Alternate 1 Bid be awarded at this time in the amount of $271,632.75. Funds are currently not available to include Alternate 2 in this project. The work associated with Alternate 2 will be included in a future project as funding allows.

Funding for this project has been allocated in the Optional 1% Sales Tax Account 201-10-05-419-40-44331.

I move for approval of a Bid Award for the Base Bid and Alternate 1 for the Parking Lot Rehabilitation Project to Powder River Construction, Inc., in the amount of $271,632.75 (1% Project).
