Ordinance first reading - 7/0
The applicant is requesting Vacation of a portion of Public Right-of-Way, known as First Street, located Southeast of the intersection of Brooks Avenue and First Street. This portion of right-of-way is at the east end of First Street and is left over from a couple of generations of subdivisions. Older plats refer to the street as Railroad Street or Railroad Avenue. The area to be vacated has been occupied by the property adjacent to the south and east for some time and was never developed as a public street. It is adjacent to the north line of Lots 1 and 2, Martens Addition. A portion of the existing building at 607 East First Street is located in the area as well. There are no public utilities located in the area.
