| Council Consideration of a Resolution to Seek Applications for the Available Retail Liquor License. |
| BACKGROUND: |
| The census information from the 2015 Census revision provided sufficient population in the City for the Wyoming Liquor Commission to authorize one (1) additional Retail Liquor License within the City for the coming decennial. This new license creates an opportunity to increase restaurant opportunities within Gillette if the available Retail Liquor License is used in a manner that best serves the needs and desires of the community in the foreseeable future. To achieve that goal, staff recommends that a Resolution be approved to receive applications for one Retail license and to create a procedure that is fair to the persons desiring to apply for the available license without creating unnecessary expense to the proposed applicants in the preliminary stages of the process. The process set forth within the Resolution is the same one used to seek applications for the unissued Bar and Grill license and the unissued Retail licenses several years ago. The City Clerk will publish a Notice over a period of three weeks that one Retail License is available for issuance and request interested parties to submit information by August 7, after which a presentation will be scheduled at a Council workshop. |
