SUBJECT:
Council Consideration of a Street Closure Permit, Malt Beverage Permit, and an Open Container Permit for the Second Annual Gillette Brewfest on July 25th, Between the Hours of 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. for the Street Closure Permit, and 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. for the Malt Beverage and Open Container Permits, Located on Gillette Avenue Between 2nd Street to 3rd Street, and a Portion of 3rd Street Between Kendrick Avenue and Warren Avenue, that will Include Outdoor Music, Requested by the Gillette Main Street Committee.
BACKGROUND:
The Gillette Main Street Committee is requesting street closure, malt beverage and open container permits for their Second Annual Gillette Brewfest Event. The event will be on July 25th between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. for the street closure permit, and 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. for both the malt beverage and open container permits.

The event will allow microbreweries from around Wyoming to promote and serve their micro brew to the public. Because microbreweries do not have the type of license that would allow them to dispense their product outside of their licensed dispensing room, organizations can acquire a malt beverage permit allowing the microbrewery to serve their brew outside of their licensed room. The organization that acquires the malt beverage permit must purchase the brewed product from each participating microbrewery prior to the event.  Then, the organization can sell tickets to the public that can be presented to the microbrewery vendor for the beer.

The street closure will be between 2nd Street and 3rd Street on Gillette Avenue and a portion of 3rd Street between Kendrick Avenue and Warren Avenue.

The described consumption area for the Malt Beverage and Open Container Permits will be between the sidewalks on Gillette Avenue between 2nd Street  and 3rd Street. Cattle fencing will be used to define the consumption area. Wrist bands will be used to identify those 21 years of age and older. Volunteers from Gillette Main Street Committee and Rotary Club will be checking ID's, and volunteers will provide security.
