Item Tabled at the July 7th Council Meeting
The City bought the house and lot at 2000 Autumn Court from Steve and Sally Bruce in 2009 for $310,000, because some of that lot would be used for the construction of Boxelder Road. The road has been constructed and the lot resubdivided to account for the portion of the original lot that is now in the right of way for Boxelder. Over the last 6 years, the City has managed the property as a rental unit and used it to house various city employees, including newly hired individuals while they find other long term housing in town. Since the housing market is not as tight as it was recently, the City's need for the property as a temporary housing asset has diminished. A Resolution has been prepared authorizing the publication of a Notice that the property is for sale and engaging the services of a real estate agent to help sell the property and maximize the sales price. The Notice sets a deadline of August 18 for bids to purchase the property and the Instructions to bidders, attached to the Resolution, sets a minimum price of $250,000.
