| Council Consideration of a Resolution Establishing and Adopting the Landscape Incentive Grant Program Through the Parks and Beautification Board and the Public Works Director. |
| BACKGROUND: |
| The City has previously undertaken the creation and funding of the Landscape Incentive Grant Program whereby matching grants may be available for commercial, industrial and multi-family properties with priority to those projects on streets designated as arterials or collectors. The Landscape Incentive Grant Program has been managed by the Gillette Parks and Beautification Board, subject to guidelines implemented by the Board and as overseen by the Public Works Director. All funds for the program are budgeted as available, and are appropriated annually at the discretion of the City Council. The Gillette Parks and Beautification Board has identified a need to expand the Landscape Incentive Grant Program to include nonprofit and not-for-profit organizations owning or maintaining properties on streets designated as arterials or collectors. The Gillette Parks and Beautification Board and the Public Works Director believe the Landscape Incentive Grant Program should be reaffirmed and expanded to include nonprofit and not-for-profit organizations. |
