| Council Consideration of a Bid Award for the Raymond Street Improvements Project to Melgaard Construction Inc., in the Amount of $301,685.75 (1% Project). |
| BACKGROUND: |
|
The Raymond Street Improvements Project includes the reconstruction of the dirt/gravel surfaced Raymond Street in the Southern Drive Industrial Park. The project generally consists of installing 10" of aggregate base over 18" of paved road subgrade processing for a length of approximately 1300 lineal feet. The drainage will be improved by removal of existing culverts and the addition of 340 lineal feet of Arch RCP Culverts with flared end sections. Other road items include ditch grading, installation of geogrid and separation fabric, removal of miscellaneous concrete and asphalt driveways as well as miscellaneous concrete installation and asphalt patching.
The contract time allotted for the project is 40 working days to Final Completion.
It is currently planned to pursue a Wyoming Business Council Grant to assist in funding the paving of Raymond Street in the near future.

Bids were opened and read aloud on July 16, 2015 at the City of Gillette Purchasing Division. Four (4) bids were received on the Project. The Engineer's Estimate, prepared by KLJ Engineering, was in the amount of $419,919.00. The project will be funded by the Optional 1% Sales Tax Account 201-10-05-419-40-44331. |
