The Maple Avenue Culvert Replacement Project (14EN27) consisted of the replacement of  two (2) existing culverts with one (1) 2.5' x 20' concrete box culvert.  The project also included removal and replacement of road surface, curb and gutter, sidewalk, drainage channel and items incidental to the box culvert installation.  The installation of the larger box culvert will help eliminate the overtopping that was common in minor storm events.  This project is located where Maple Avenue crosses North Donkey Creek/Sunflower Park in the 4-J Subdivision.

The original construction time was 45 working days to substantial completion and 55 working days to final completion.   Five (5) days were added to the completion time for the additional work of lowering a waterline that interfered with the box culvert installation. S & S Builders, LLC, completed the project within the allotted time.

The original contract price was in the amount of $414,445.50.

There were a total of two (2) change orders on the project, resulting in a net decrease to the project in the amount of  $1,072.22.  The final contract amount was $413,373.28.

Change Order #1-was for additional work to lower the waterline that was in conflict with the Box Culvert installation.  The total amount for this work was $21,907.92.  This item was billed to the force account pay item and resulted in a net increase to the project in the amount of $1,907.92 .

Change Order #2-  Final Quantity Adjustments.  This was a net decrease to the project in the amount of $2,980.14.

Countywide Consensus Funds also contributed to the funding for this project.
