| Council Consideration of a Bid Award for the Downtown Tree Planting Project to Tiger Tree, Inc., in the Amount of $78,020.00. |
| BACKGROUND: |
| This project is phase two of a tree removal and trimming project in the downtown subdivisions. The first phase involved removing and stump grinding 162 trees, and trimming 187 trees that were damaged by Storm Atlas in October, 2013. In this phase of the project, 166 trees will be planted at 75 addresses in the downtown right-of-ways as replacement trees for residents who had their trees previously removed. |
| ACTUAL COST VS. BUDGET: |
Funding for the project (15FR01) will be paid for from Forestry account number 001-50-53-452-30-43240, and then the account will be reimbursed by the insurance settlement that the City of Gillette received after the damage was evaluated from Storm Atlas. The remaining funds of the insurance settlement will continue to be used to remove, trim, and plant trees throughout City parks and right-of-ways.
There were two bids received for this project:
Tiger Tree, Inc. - $78,020
Connely's Scenic Landscaping - $82,170
The City Arborist's estimate for this project was $91,300.00. |
