| Council Consideration of a Professional Services Agreement for Evaluating, Modeling, and Updating the City of Gillette's Transportation Master Plan, with DOWL, in the Amount of $131,819.00 (1% Project). |
| BACKGROUND: |
The City's Transportation Master Plan was last updated in 2008/2009. Since that time there has been substantial growth in and around the community. New subdivisions, new businesses, and new commercial areas have developed, the population has increased, and several major collectors and arterial roadways have been constructed.
The Wyoming Department of Transportation previously maintained and operated a TransCAD Model for communities to use for transportation planning. WYDOT no longer provides this service.
DOWL-HKM completed the current Transportation Master Plan. Their staff is familiar with our roadway network and they have good basic knowledge of our community and factors that influence its traffic.
They will develop a core project team consisting of City, County, WYDOT, BNSF, emergency services, and others to help with the master plan. There will also be several opportunities for public participation. |
| ACTUAL COST VS. BUDGET: |
DOWL's fees for the services are in the amount of $131,819.00.
This service will include: data gathering, updating the base model, calibration of the model, defining future year projections, running model alternatives, identifying traffic signal prioritizations, pathway integration with the roadway network, consideration of safety elements, future project identification, and potential funding options. The outcome will be an updated Transportation Master Plan.
Funding for this project is budgeted in Account No. 201-10-05-419-70-47402 (Street & Major Road Extensions). |
