| BACKGROUND: |
Ordinance First Reading: 6/0 (Councilman Carsrud absent)
Ordinance Second Reading: 6/0 (Councilman Rothleutner resigned)
This ordinance creates a new Class D license for plumbers, known as the Residential Fire Suppression License. This license will let the Class D contractors install sprinkler systems in residential construction such as townhouses. Sprinkler systems have been required in townhouses since the 2009 edition of the International Residential Code was adopted, but there has been no interest in building new townhouses until recently. The remainder of the ordinance renumbers existing sections to make room for this new material. |

| I move for the Approval of the Ordinance to Enact Standards for Residential Fire Suppression System Licenses, by Amending Section 5-III-5 and Section 5-III-7 of the Gillette City Code, enacting Article III (D) Residential Fire Suppression System Licenses, and Renumbering Gillette City Code Sections after 5-III-23 on Third and Final Reading. |
