| An Ordinance Approving and Authorizing the Extension of the Boundaries of the City of Gillette, Wyoming, and Annexation of a Tract of Land Known as the Kintz Addition, Contiguous and Adjoining the Present City Boundaries and Establishing a C-O, Office and Institution Zoning District, Subject to all Planning Requirements. |
| BACKGROUND: |
Ordinance First Reading: 6/0 (Councilman Carsud absent)
Ordinance Second Reading: 6/0 (Councilman Rothleutner resigned)
The City has received a Petition to Annex 2.81 acres of land from the sole property owner of the land sought to be annexed. The property is currently vacant. The owner, Campbell County Board of Commissioners, plans to expand the Rockpile Museum, located south of this property, to the north. Any future development will be reviewed by the City and shall meet City standards. The proposed zoning is C-O, Office and Institution District. The City Council will make the final zoning determination at the time of annexation.
This area is a logical extension of the City limits and the property is serviceable by City water, sanitary sewer, and electrical service. The Comprehensive Plan envisions future land use as Public Facilities. There is adjacent C-O zoning to the east and the parcel to the south is currently being rezoned to C-O. There is no significant City investment required in support of this annexation.
In accordance with State Statutes, an Annexation Report has been prepared and distributed. |
