This is an update to Ordinance 1060 (2002).  The original purpose behind 1060 was to create incentives to attract new officers and applicants to Gillette.  This Amendment makes minor revisions to the existing ordinance by (1) removing pre-service tuition reimbursement for those having attended the Law Enforcement Academy; (2) establishing a 6 month deadline in which to make application for reimbursement of interview and moving expenses; (3) requires repaying of interview and moving expenses to the City if the new hire does not complete the trial service period; and (4) changing what the City will originally purchase for new hires from "uniforms and accessories such as holsters" to the term "duty equipment".
