| Council Consideration for the Acceptance of Public Improvements for the Potter Avenue Quiet Zone Improvement Project, Installed by S & S Builders, LLC, in the Amount of $215,661.50 (1% Project and Wyoming Department of Transportation Grant). |
| BACKGROUND: |
The City facilitated portion of the Potter Avenue Quiet Zone Improvement Project (14EN37) consisted of the installation of 164 LF of concrete median as well as 330 LF of 30" curb and gutter, earthwork activities to widen Potter Avenue along the east side, the installation of an 18" RCP culvert with flared end section, installation of 1,102 SY of road base, 510 SY of concrete paving, and 598 SY of asphalt paving.
This project is part of the Wyoming Department of Transportation Quiet Zone Grant Program, which is reimbursing the City for 50% of the total project cost. Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad is to replace the crossing gates and signal controls allowing for the final implementation of the Quiet Zone. BNSF is expecting to receive materials for their portion of the project this coming spring. The City will be responsible for funding 50% of the railroad work when it is performed.
The final Quiet Zone implementation will not be complete until the WYDOT coordinated signal and gate improvements are complete and approved.
The City facilitated portion of work (road improvements) was performed by S & S Builders, LLC, and was completed on time in accordance with the contract documents. |
| ACTUAL COST VS. BUDGET: |
The funding for this project has been allocated from the 1% Optional Tax Account 201-10-05-419-70-47403.
The Original Contract price was in the amount of $227,328.00. After installed quantity adjustments, the Final Contract price was in the amount of $215,661.50. |
