The Fox Park-Park Improvements and Arley Acres Pathway Project consisted of improving the existing park in the Fox Park Subdivision.  The improvements included adding a new asphalt entrance road and parking lot, new sidewalks, lighting, irrigation and landscaping.  The Arley Acres portion of the project included installing sidewalks which gave better access to Fox Park from both Arley Acres and Morningside subdivisions.  The project also included drainage improvements to several areas in Arley Acres including the addition and replacement of culverts.

The original contract price for the project was in the amount of $521,575.57.

There were a total of four (4) change orders for the project resulting in a net decrease of $12,430.24.

Work included in the Change orders included additional excavation below subgrade, the addition of geogrid in a section of the roadway, additional storm pipe an inlet in Arley Acres, adjustment to the roadway ditch slopes, modification to the irrigation system, and final quantity adjustments.

The Contractor did not finish the project within the contract time allotted.  The contract gave the contractor 40 working days to reach Substantial Completion and 50 working days to reach Final Completion.  The contractor exceeded the Substantial Completion time by four (4) days and Final Completion by six (6) days.  This resulted in liquidated damages in the amount of $10,500.00 being assessed.

The final price for the project was in the amount of $509,145.33.  The project was funded by the Optional 1% Sales Tax account  201-10-05-419-70-47311.
