| Council Consideration for the Acceptance of Public Improvements for the Pavement Management System 2014 Schedule C Project, Installed by Powder River Construction, Inc., in the Amount of $766,609.98 (1% Project). |
| BACKGROUND: |
|
The Pavement Management System 2014 Schedule C Project consisted of the removal and replacement of 3,000 SY of asphalt pavement, 4,600 SF of sidewalk and driveway, and 1,040 LF of curb and gutter associated with the preparation of 1,750 CY of excavation below subgrade and the installation of 6,200 LF of 4"sub-drain, 1,600 LF of 18" CPE storm drain, 410 LF of 15" CPE storm drain, 5 storm drain manholes, and 19 storm drain inlets.
The project was designed and the construction management, survey, and testing were provided by Bruce Engineering, Inc.
The contract originally established 90 working days to substantial completion and 100 days to final completion. The notice to proceed was issued for May 20, 2015. After accounting for adverse weather days and days added through change orders, the final completion date became November 20, 2015. The work was completed within the Contract Time allotted.

| ACTUAL COST VS. BUDGET: |
|
The original contract with Powder River Construction, Inc. was in the amount of $728,730.00. Four (4) change orders were executed resulting in a net increase to the contract of $37,879. The final contract amount was $766,609.88.
Due to favorable bid pricing, additional work was included in the project via change order and included the installation of approximately 1,860 lf of sub-drain and associated patching on Tate Avenue and Lexington Avenue (the cost of the additional sub-drain was $80,980).
The Engineer's Estimate for this project was $993,676.00.
The project was funded by the 1% Optional Tax Account 201-10-05-419-40-44331.
