Burns & McDonnell Engineering Co. (B&McD) is the City's design engineer for this project. During the regular City Council meeting on May 21, 2012, the City of Gillette approved a Construction Program Management and Control Services contract with B&McD for a 40-month duration in the amount of $1,788,991.00. The May 2012 professional services agreement did not include construction phase services for this particular pipeline construction contract. Rather, the May 2012 agreement provides program management and document control services for the entire construction phase for costs not directly associated with each individual construction contract. It was our intent at that time to award separate amendments to the May 2012 agreement to B&McD to coincide with the separate award of individual construction contracts during the 40-month construction phase period.
At this time, City Staff recommends B&McD be retained to perform all necessary construction administration, inspection, materials testing, and other construction phase services directly related to construction Contract #6 for this project. City Staff recommends approval of the proposed Amendment for the proposed fee of $159,620.00.
