| BACKGROUND: |

This project will replace all of the failing concrete apron around the Z1-R4 (Southern Drive Tank) and install new driveway from Doud Drive to Z1-R5 (Hidden Valley Tank).

| ACTUAL COST VS. BUDGET: |
The City of Gillette Purchasing Division opened bids for this project at the City Warehouse on Wednesday, March 9, 2016, at 2:30 P.M. The following table summarizes the bids received and the Engineer's estimate.

BID IRREGULARITIES
:
There was only minor mathematical errors within three of the bids. The printed out electronic bid form rounded S&S Builders, Mining Electrical Services, and GW Construction's summation to the nearest dollar. Once the unit prices were reviewed, this changed the actual bids received by $0.30, $0.29, and $0.45 respectively. Unit prices were not modified and these are considered informal errors and the bids are not recommended for rejection nor does it change the bidding order.
CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATE:
The total construction cost for this project was estimated at $355,450.00 and was prepared by Morrison-Maierle. The low bid from S&S Builders, LLC, was $290,485.70, approximately 18% lower than the Engineer's estimate.
BUDGET:
Monies for this project have been budgeted from the 1% Optional Sales Tax Fund #201-10-05-419-70-47413 in the amount of $425,000.00.
CONTRACTOR'S REVIEW:
S&S Builders, LLC, has no apparent problem with their bid.
