SUBJECT:
An Ordinance Providing for the Vacation of a 10 Foot Wide Portion of a 20 Foot Wide Utility Easement that is Contained Entirely Within Lot 150 of the Sierra Glen Addition, as Shown on the Exhibit "A" Map, in the City of Gillette, Wyoming, Subject to all Planning Requirements.
BACKGROUND:
The applicant is requesting to vacate a 10 Foot Wide portion of a Utility Easement along the north boundary of Lot 150 within the Sierra Glen Addition. The applicant is seeking to vacate this easement, in order to build an accessory garage that will be located adjacent to their house at 1710 Cimarron Drive.

The Sierra Glen Addition was platted in 1969.  Utilities are not located within this easement. All existing major utilities are contained within the public right-of-way. This was verified by utility locates which were performed by the applicant.  A private electric service line exists in the vicinity of the easement and provides power to the house at 1710 Cimarron Drive.  The applicant will be required to relocate the electric service line at their expense prior to building the proposed garage.  All City Divisions and other utility companies have been notified of this request. There were no concerns over the proposed vacation.

Vacation of this easement does not automatically grant the applicant approval to build an accessory garage on the lot. Before an accessory garage can be built on the lot, the applicant must receive a Building Permit and a Zoning Permit from the City of Gillette.
