| A Proclamation Designating Friday, April 29, 2016, as the City of Gillette's Official Arbor Day. |
| BACKGROUND: |
| National Arbor Day is celebrated every year on the last Friday in April. The City of Gillette will celebrate on the same Friday as National Arbor Day. Each state celebrates its own Arbor Day, with the state of Wyoming celebrating on the last Monday in April. |
| SUGGESTED MOTION: |
| Now, therefore, I, Louise Carter-King, Mayor of the City of Gillette, do hereby proclaim, Friday, April 29th as Arbor Day in the City of Gillette, and call upon all citizens to support efforts to protect our trees and support our City's Urban Forestry program; and further, I urge all citizens to plant and care for trees to gladden the heart and promote the well-being of this and future generations. |
