This project consisted of the reconstruction of North Osborne Avenue, mill and overlay of Lincoln and Laramie Streets, patch repairs on Brooks Avenue south of Longmont Street, reconstruction of Brooks Avenue from Longmont Street to Lakeside Drive, cement stabilized base and new asphalt paving of EZ Street from Highway 59 to Mitchell Avenue.  The project also included the replacement of any aged metallic water fittings, fire hydrants, and storm inlets within the areas of reconstruction.

Recycling of milled asphalt from the site and the existing aggregate base with neat cement was used to speed the reconstruction of EZ Street.  This allowed for the reconstruction of the road in an abbreviated time frame, avoiding the time required to reconstruct the subgrade by conventional means.

A total of two (2) days were added to the substantial completion period to compensate for unforeseen subsurface conditions bringing the contract time to a total of 72 days. An additional 10 days were allowed to reach final completion.  Simon Contractors completed the work within the allotted time. 

The project was awarded in the amount of $958,362.85.

There were two (2) change orders resulting in a reduction in the contract amount of $14,040.75 and an increase in contract time of two (2) days.  The reduction in cost resulted from miscellaneous quantity adjustments.

The final contract price was in the amount of $944,322.09.

The project was funded through the 1% Optional Sales Tax Account 201-10-05-419-40-44331.

I move for the approval of the Acceptance of Public Improvements for the Pavement Management System 2016 Schedule A Project, Installed by Simon Contractors, in the Amount of $944,322.09. (1% Project).
