Council Consideration of a Bid Award for the Base Bid and Alternate No. 1 and Alternate No. 2 for the Donkey Creek Festival Improvements Project to Van Ewing Construction Inc., in the Amount of $85,631.94 (1% Project, Cloud Peak Donation, Wyoming Cultural Trust Fund Grant).
BACKGROUND:
The Donkey Creek Festival Improvements Project will enhance the usability and safety for the Annual Donkey Creek Festival held at the Gillette College.  This project will include the addition of tiered modular block seat walls and new electrical for stage, vendor and sound booth areas.  The project will also include a new concrete stage pad, tent pivot points, ramp walkway, and sound booth pad. The existing landscaping and irrigation will be modified to accommodate the new amenities.  The project also includes the repair of two drainage areas by adding culvert pipe and repair of an existing gravel pathway.
ACTUAL COST VS. BUDGET:

Bids were opened and read aloud on February 22, 2017 at the City of Gillette Purchasing Division.  Seven (7) bids were received on the project.

The Engineer's Estimate, prepared by City of Gillette Staff was in the amount of $118,975.00.

Funding for this project has been allocated in the Optional 1% Sales Tax account 201-10-05-419-90-49010, as well as a private donation from Cloud Peak Energy and Supported in part by a grant from the Wyoming Cultural Trust Fund, a program of the Department of State Parks and Cultural Resources.

It is recommended that the Base bid and the two alternate bids in the amount of $85,631.94 be awarded at this time.

I move for Approval of a Bid Award for the Base Bid and Alternate No. 1 and Alternate No. 2 for the Donkey Creek Festival Improvements Project to Van Ewing Construction Inc., in the amount of $85,631.94 (1% Project, Cloud Peak Donation, Wyoming Cultural Trust Fund Grant) .
